Ventana abierta al Valle Gran Rey desde Casa Mimo, La Gomera

Short stays · Tenerife and La Gomera

Self-catering apartments in La Gomera & Tenerife

Not a hotel, not an anonymous apartment. These are houses somebody chose, furnished and looks after, opened up for a few days so you can live in them as if they were yours.

What it actually is

Holiday rental, without the small print

You rent the whole house for a few days: no reception desk, no neighbours down the corridor, no breakfast hours. You arrive, open the door, and the house is yours until you leave.

Every home is registered in the Canary Islands holiday rental register. The registration number appears on each home's page, as the law requires. That isn't red tape: it means the house complies, it is insured, and your booking won't collapse overnight.

The real difference from booking on a portal is who answers you. There is no middleman here: the person replying to your message is the person holding the keys, who knows the house and can tell you whether the sea is good in the north that week or whether you should head south.

Always included

What you find when you open the door

No hidden extras and no surprises on arrival. If something isn't included, you'll see it before you pay rather than at the end of the process.

Bed linen and towels

A full set per guest, washed and pressed. Beach towels separately, so you don't have to use the bathroom ones.

Fibre wifi

Enough for a work video call while the living room streams a series at the same time.

A kitchen ready to use

Oil, salt, coffee and the basics, so the first breakfast doesn't depend on finding a supermarket open.

Final cleaning

It is in the price. It doesn't appear as a last-minute extra once you've decided to book.

A guide to the house

Where to buy bread, which beach is sheltered from the wind that month, and where the food is genuinely good.

Someone on the phone

A number that answers throughout your stay. Not a form that replies in 48 hours.

Step by step

From first message to keys in hand

  1. You write with your dates

Through the form or by WhatsApp. Knowing when you're coming and how many of you there are is enough to start.

  2. We confirm availability and price

A fixed price with cleaning and taxes inside. If the house you like is taken, we suggest the closest one to it.

  3. You book with 20 %

Secure card payment and written confirmation. The balance is paid at least seven days before you arrive.

  4. Let yourself in, whenever you arrive

All our homes have self check-in, with a smart lock or a key box. We send you the instructions before your trip and you let yourself in whatever time you arrive, without waiting for anyone.

Prices and seasons

When it costs more and when it costs less

The Canaries have no winter, but they do have seasons. Knowing which is which can change what you pay for the same house quite a lot.

April · May · June · September

Low season

The best time, and hardly anyone knows it: warm sea, long days and beaches without the summer queues. This is when the house works out cheapest.

The rest of the year, including July and August

Base season

This covers the quiet winter months as well as July and August: the price does not rise just because it is peak season on the rest of the island. In summer, book ahead.

20 December to 6 January

High season

Christmas and New Year in the Canaries: flights and houses fill up months in advance. It is the only time of year with a surcharge over the base price.

Common questions

What people ask us most

Can I bring my dog?

We're sorry, but no. We love animals, but to protect guests with allergies we don't allow them in any of our homes.

Do I need a car?

In Tenerife, strongly recommended: the good things are spread across the island and public transport doesn't reach all of them. In La Gomera it's essentially essential. We can tell you where to rent without overpaying at the airport.

Is there a deposit?

No. None of our homes asks for a deposit, not even a hold on the card. What you pay is what the stay costs.

What if my flight is delayed?

No problem at all. All our homes have self check-in, with a smart lock or a key box, so you let yourself in whatever time you arrive, with no one waiting and no surcharge. All we ask is a message so we know you got there safely.

Is it cheaper than Airbnb?

Yes, and that isn't marketing, it's arithmetic. The platform commission doesn't exist if you book here, so the same house for the same nights costs less. If you find one of our homes cheaper on a portal, tell us and we'll match it.

Do the dates work for you?

Tell us when you're coming and how many of you there are. We'll say which house fits best and hold it while you think it over.
